I was always told to use dark, but we only had light in the house...it worked just fine for us. Our "formula" for it was 1 tsp per 3 ounces of whatever we were putting it in. It would clean our son out but not make him go too much...

The pediatrician that cares for my children recomended that we do this for two of them when they were babies becaue the soy formula they were on made them constipated. She specified that we only use the Dark one and that is the only one that works for constipation. The light one will do nothing. I put an ounce of the Dark Karo into four ounces of formula once or twice daily. It worked quick and helped them to stay regular. They loved it too. It tasted good and had no side effects.

I used dark Karo for Jack and to tell you the truth, it did make him have a bowel movement, but it gave him stomach cramps. Why don't you try the infant suppositories, the work good for Jack, it usually happens within a few minutes and he's relieved.
